Dorking Decorative and Fine Arts Society (Dorking DFAS) was founded in 1982 and is a member society of NADFAS (The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies). Our aims are to promote the appreciation of the decorative and fine arts and the preservation of our artistic heritage.

We meet monthly, except in August and September, for lectures on a wide range of topics connected with the fine and decorative arts and heritage. These lectures are given by experienced and highly qualified lecturers who are experts in their chosen field. Lectures are for members only but guests may attend at the invitation of a member and prior arrangement with our secretary. Twice a year we have a study day when a subject is pursued in more depth than an hour’s lecture allows.

Dorking DFAS organises visits to galleries, museums and places of historic and artistic interest. We usually arrange two short tours each year.

Groups within Dorking DFAS are involved in Church Recording, Church Trails, Heritage Volunteering and Young Arts.

Our lectures programme for 2011 to 2012 can be found in the 'Lectures' page, Visits and tours can be found in the 'Visits/Tours' page; and 'Special Interest/Study Days' can be found in the 'Study Day'pages.
